St Patrick Day Parade – This is the oldest parade in Jefferson Parish, and it is rated as one of the top ten St Patrick Day Parades in the United States. It consists of 110 units featuring marching groups, floats and trucks distributing prized produce and St Patrick Day throws to all parade goers. Founded in 1971, the St. Patrick's Parade of Metairie has been taking to the streets of Old Metairie for over the past fifty years, in celebration of St. Patrick's Day. With over 100 floats and trucks, bands, marching clubs, and all the vegetables you can get your hands on.
