On March 19th, 2005, the first annual St. Patrick’s Lo-Tide Run was a wonderful success. Unfortunately, Steve lost his battle with cancer in May of 2005. In 2006, the Lo-Tide Run was re-named in Steve’s honor. The race experienced a tremendous growth in comparison to the inaugural one. The Lo Tide Run has become a favorite event in our local area with as many as 2,000 runners participating and raising up to $100,000 annually for local cancer warriors who are in financial need. The course starts and finishes at Lake Park in Carolina Beach, which is a beautiful 11-acre freshwater lake just two blocks from the Atlantic Ocean. Join the fun with the flat course (USATF Certification) run, a St. Patrick's Day Celebration and tribute to two truly amazing men whose paths crossed in Carolina Beach. New for 2025, the Carolina Beach Lake Park is both starting and finish line for costume clad in Irish attire (or not) participants who either choose the 10K Run or the 5K Run/Walk followed by an awards ceremony and after party.
