It’s time for ‘the wearing of the green!” The St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee invites you and your organization to participate in the annual parade around Madison’s beautiful Capitol Square. We welcome sponsors, parade entries, volunteers and spectators to participate as we celebrate the Irish culture. Parade proceeds will be donated to local charities. Thank you for your support! Madison, WI’s St. Patrick’s Day parade has continuously been held since 1998. Madison has likely had three previous waves of St. Patrick's Day parades. Students in the UW Engineering School sponsored the first wave of parades, off and on from 1912 to 1937, then ceased in 1940. St. Patrick’s Day Parade Sunday, March 16, 2025 Capitol Square, Madison, WI 1:30 p.m. VOLUNTEER FORM The St. Patrick’s Parade Committee of Madison is always looking for people interested in helping with the annual parade. Volunteers are needed to help plan and coordinate the parade and to help with activities on parade day. The Madison Shamrock Shuffle is a Madison favorite that happens close to St. Patrick’s Day every year and is the first major race event of the year. No matter what the weather brings, thousands are dressed up to run in a timed 10K or 5K run or you can choose the untimed 5K walk option.
