With 25 gallons of eco-friendly dye, our beautiful river transforms into a dazzling shade of emerald, mirroring the legendary River Shannon in Ireland. A procession of 12 Irish-themed decorated floats filled with Irish entertainment can be viewed from anywhere on the parade route. Several bagpipers will grace the floats along with other entertainers. Archer Avenue St. Patrick’s Day Parade, Saturday, March 15 Chicago’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade will kick off at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, stepping off from Columbus and Balbo drives and heading north through Grant Park. The lower riverwalk will be St. Patrick’s Day At The Irish American Heritage Center. 4-11 p.m. Monday, March 17. Irish American Heritage Center, 4626 N. Knox Ave. While most St. Patrick’s Day events are happening the weekend prior, you can celebrate on the actual holiday with the Irish American Heritage Center.
