The parade, a Cedar Rapids has hosted St. Patrick’s Day parades since 1975. The parade has been organized every year since 1978 by a non-profit called the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Society, or SaPaDaPaSo (a name allegedly conceived on a cocktail napkin in 1977).
