Tips to surviving Savannah St Patrick’s Day: Try to get to Savannah early! The parade starts at promptly 10:15 AM and parking spots are hard to find. Visitor Day Passes are not valid in parking garages & lots during the festival. Residential Decals are prohibited on St. Patrick's Day. Residents are required to pay to park in the garages. Due to the parade route closures, vehicles parking in some garages will not be allowed to exit until after the parade ends. Cars are parked at the owner’s Ahead of an expected influx of visitors to the Coastal Empire this week, Vagabond Cruise is offering a ferry service from Hilton Head into Savannah on St. Patrick’s Day. The locally owned cruise company said they’ve been providing this service since 1994. That's why Chatham Area Transit (CAT) will provide a $5 round–trip park 'n' ride St. Patrick's Day shuttle March 17, 7 a.m.-4 p.m. from these locations: • Westside at the Westside Shopping Center on Hwy 80 in Garden City; • Eastside at the Island Towne Centre on Whitemarsh Island; • Southside at the Savannah Mall near Dillard's.
