The town that took its name from a suggestion of an Irish immigrant in the 1800s starts off its weekend of festivities with the Kickoff Banquet, Carnival, and Miss It was even designated on March 14, 2013, by the 83rd Texas House Legislature, as the “official St. Patrick’s Day Celebration for the State of Texas.” Kick off the festivities with a rockin’ St. Paddy’s Day parade to top the morning off, complete with bagpipes serenading you along the way.
