Main Street will be closed from Park Avenue to Mountain Ave (Borough Hall), from 11:30 am to 5:30 pm. Please plan for limited parking and traffic detours. The first St. Patrick’s Day Parade on record in Somerville was held in 1984. The parade route follows Main Street, beginning near the courthouse and ending at the Somerville Borough Hall. It began at Duke Island Park and traveled to downtown Somerville. The parade remained like this for several years until the organization could no longer continue. Collins, Ken Greig has been named Grand Marshal of the Somerville St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Ken is a Somerville native, son of the late William and Joan Greig who were both born in Brooklyn, New York.
