A parade of Irish-themed floats will traverse the San Antonio River on Saturday, March 15, entertaining revelers along the Museum Reach from 2-3 p.m. and those Watch the River Walk Go Green for St. Paddy’s! The 2.5-mile downtown stretch is free to view and offers a perfect backdrop for those enjoying sips and bites outdoors from March 16-17, 2024. Runners can enjoy some holiday Riverwalk time by taking part in the annual St. Patrick’s Day 5K along the San Antonio river. The race will be held on Saturday, March 15 and prizes will go to the best costumes and green gear. Bud Light will be presenting the parades of all parades. For the San Antonio St. Patrick’s Day Parade, w atch a procession of 12 ornately decorated Irish-themed floats going down the green-dyed river with Irish entertainment, like bagpipers and costumed personalities, atop the floats. Bagpipers play on the San Antonio Pipes and Drums float during the annual St. Patrick's Day Festival parade at the Arneson River Theatre in 2018. Bagpipes are a popular instrument for the occasion.
