St. Patrick’s Day commemorates the death of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, according to History.com. On and around the holiday, people in the U.S. often wear green and celebrate Irish culture with parades, drinking, music, dancing and food like soda bread and corned beef. Traditionally this event brings together many different communities from the Greater Hartford area to celebrate the Celtic culture. Come down to the parade route early and get your seat. The parade begins at Capitol Avenue by the State Capitol, takes a left onto Main Street, and left on Asylum Avenue, a left on Ford Street, and then ends by the Memorial Arch. The Central Connecticut Celtic Cultural Committee will be hosting the 2025 Greater Hartford St. Patrick's day parade on March 15th to celebrate the 53nd Anniversary of this great event! The parade will take place on Saturday 3/15/2025, stepping off from the Capitol building at 11AM.
