BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) — As St. Patrick's Day approaches, the City of Buffalo is preparing for a weekend of celebrations, with Irish dancers, community events, and parades honoring Irish heritage. As part of kicking off St. Patrick's Day festivities in Buffalo, Acting Mayor Scanlon and other representatives from Buffalo's Irish community raised the flag of Ireland in front of city hall. The Old Neighborhood parade begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday this year, as opposed to noon. Today, Buffalo hosts one of the largest St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in New York State, second only to New York City.
