The first documented St. Patrick's Day Celebration Parade in Philadelphia was held in 1771, marking over 230 continuous years of celebrations. Each year the St. Patrick's Day Observance Association hosts the parade on the Sunday prior to St. Patrick's Day unless March 17th falls on Sunday.
